Artists are entrepreneurs that are driven by passion. While we pursue our work for love of the arts; many of us still encounter the challenge of being truly successful; of sharing our work with the right audience and of course, the challenge of generating income.

This session will teach you how to leverage the digital resources available, in order to grow your creative brands. Whether you are looking to grow your following or sell your work; these tips and tools will show you how to become more influential in your field.

My name is Tiffany Johnson. I am a creative entrepreneur from Minneapolis Minnesota. In 2012 I started the online platform InColor Magazine simply because I had a passion to write stories for the Black population in Minnesota as I felt their stories were not appropriately reflected in the local mainstream media.

However, I pursued this endeavor with no business savvy and no strategy for growing my business, making money or targeting a specific audience. My first two attempts at starting this business were not as successful as I would have liked.

After entering a venture competition called the Acara Challenge and working with digital marketing tools at major local media companies to help business clients; I learned about the digital properties that are available to all of us and found that these very tools could be used to push creative and personal brands as well.

In 2018 I decided to relaunch InColor Magazine with an intentional digital strategy to expand and grow my target audience.

I want to share the tools and tactics that I have learned about with fellow artists, with the hope of helping you to grow your own creative brands!
